SMART stands for – Small to Medium Area Repair Techniques. What this means in practice is smaller vehicle damage repairs. Those annoying dings, scuffs, dents and scratches on bonnets, doors, wing mirrors, and bumpers to name a few.
We use a technique known as PDR – Paintless Dent Removal. This is the art of pushing the dent out using a combination of special tools to manipulate the dent and restore the area to its former glory. Using this process negates the need for fillers or any re-spraying of the paintwork, meaning a less costly and time-consuming repair for you.
PDR allows us to tackle those shopping trolley dings, other vehicle door-causing dents, tree branches, so most minor dents efficiently and effectively.
On the odd occasions where we are unable to gain access from the inside, to the back of the dent, we can use a gluing process whereby we pull the dent out.
In cases where the paint is split or cracked at the site of the dent and a paint repair will be required, we can use a ‘Push To Paint’ technique, removing the dent using PDR, limiting the use of any fillers before the paint work is repaired.
Using SMART repair practices we can repair those bumper scuffs, scratches and key damage, so those small area repairs as well as partial or complete panel repairs.
By completing a SMART repair on an area, we avoid the removing or repainting of the entire panel of the car. Our technicians will, using their skill and up-to-date technology and processes create the colour generating a perfect match to seamlessly blend the repair into the surrounding area.
