DWV recently held a training session at its Leeds headquarters, which was hosted by Lee Smedley, Technical Manager at paint, parts and bodyshop equipment provider LKQ.
This session gave DWV technicians the opportunity to hone their skills on repairs, ensuring that they are prepared for when they are booked on such jobs. Throughout the day, topics covered included:
Demonstrating a process to achieve a successful blend
Preparation of a panel from the primed state, using the correct tooling and abrasives to achieve the required finish for basecoats and clearcoats
Force curing clearcoat techniques
Paint rectification and the polishing systems
UV products and processes
Chris Wood, DWV Managing Director said: “On behalf of DWV, I would like to extend my thanks and gratitude to Lee Smedley and LKQ for their continued support in educating our technicians. We pride ourselves on providing a market-leading service, and this is a result of the training provided to our technicians. We would not be where we are without consistent training and support, both internally and externally.”
